How does a VDS work? Are they stable?

One physical server is split into multiple Virtual servers and managed by the VDS software. Each VDS account is isolated with hard resource limits managed by the VDS software. This means that even if one website experiences a huge traffic surge the other VDS accounts will not be affected - the VDS software will constrain its resource usage. This makes VDS servers exceptionally stable - something shared hosting cannot provide.

What if one VDS account crashes?

If one VDS account on the server crashes then the VDS software will restart the VDS with no interruption to any other VDS account. Likewise, if one VDS user attempts to recompile some of their software and fails this will not affect your account, because your VDS doesn't even know about it.

Do I get full root and cPanel access?

Yes. You have full root access to setup your VDS as you need. If you choose to include cPanel, you also have full root access to the cPanel/Web Host Manager interfaces.

Is there any small print about 'overusage'?

No. What you pay for is exactly what you are allowed to use. We do not "oversell" VDS accounts, meaning that you are guaranteed your full resource allocation at all times, with full performance.
